Coppicing - Why & How it's Done

06 February 2018, 10:00 - 15:00 ( Add to calendar )

Our tutor will discuss the biology and history of coppicing in England, including the tools used to carry out this traditional method of managing woods. You will then have an opportunity to explore the coppice areas in our educational woodland at Nower Wood with the reserve's manager. Finally, you will develop the skills needed to create a coppice screen before building one yourself.
